Clinic records checklist, not ToothAbroad intake

The clinic-side records you may need before a clinic quote means anything.

Cheap dental tourism quotes become risky when they are based on incomplete records. Use this checklist for conversations with licensed dentists or clinics — not to send medical documents to ToothAbroad. For ToothAbroad's first written quote check, paste only quote text, procedure names, materials, timing, deposit, refund and warranty wording. ToothAbroad does not collect or store X-rays, CBCT scans, mouth photos, lab reports, or other medical files.

Recent panoramic X-ray

A pano gives clinics a first view of missing teeth, bone level, roots, sinuses, wisdom teeth, and old dental work.

Usually enough for early crown, bridge, extraction, and implant screening.

CBCT scan for implants or All-on-4

For implants, a 3D CBCT is the difference between a rough estimate and a serious treatment plan.

Ask whether the quote includes CBCT and whether it is reviewed by the implant dentist.

Clear mouth photos

Front smile, upper arch, lower arch, left bite, right bite, and close-ups of painful or broken teeth.

Use bright natural light. Blurry photos create vague quotes.

Current treatment plan or US quote

If a US dentist already diagnosed you, send the written plan. It helps compare what is being changed, skipped, or added abroad.

Remove private details you do not want shared before forwarding.

By procedure

What a clinic may request for each treatment.

More complete clinic-side records can make a treating clinic reply with a clearer plan. They are not required for ToothAbroad's first written quote check.

Single implant

Panoramic X-ray, CBCT if possible, photo of missing tooth area, gum/bite photos, medical history.

All-on-4 / full arch

CBCT, full-mouth photos, list of failing teeth, denture history if any, desired timeline, smoking/diabetes notes.

Crowns

Bitewing or periapical X-rays, photos of damaged teeth, whether root canals were done, material preference.

Veneers

Smile photos, side-profile smile, bite photos, gum photos, current whitening/cosmetic history, expectations.

Root canal

Pain timeline, periapical X-ray if available, previous antibiotics, swelling/infection symptoms, crown plan.

Red flags

Do not pay a deposit if these are missing.

Clinic gives a full implant quote without asking for X-rays or CBCT.
Quote says “lifetime warranty” but has no written exclusions.
All-on-4 plan does not mention temporary vs final teeth timing.
Implant brand, abutment, crown material, or lab work are not named.
You are asked for a large deposit before a dentist reviews diagnostic records.
The treatment plan changes dramatically after you arrive with no clear explanation.
Photo guide

How to take useful mouth photos at home.

  1. 1Clean the lens and use bright daylight, not bathroom yellow light.
  2. 2Take one relaxed smile and one full smile from the front.
  3. 3Use spoons or clean fingers to pull cheeks gently for left/right bite photos.
  4. 4Take upper and lower arch photos with the phone angled toward the chewing surfaces.
  5. 5Do not crop out gums. Gum line and bite matter for veneers, crowns, and implants.

Have records already?

Paste the written quote text into the review tool, but do not send X-rays, CBCT scans, mouth photos, lab reports, or full medical records to ToothAbroad. Do not email dental records to ToothAbroad. If you later request a clinic introduction, the clinic should request records directly through its own intake process after your explicit consent.
